My Granddad’s Car is actually a story of two cars with different histories. A little while ago, Karl and I discovered that we both shared a fascination with our grandfather’s cars. As we reminisced, talking about past experiences and visits to Pakistan and Nigeria we found that these beaten up objects symbolised something greater than their worn, broken parts. We decided that we would both attempt to bring the cars to the UK and document our journeys. I’m happy to say we’re one step closer to realising our idea as we prepare for an exhibition at Heathrow T5 in December 2011. Its going to be an interesting journey and we’re looking forward seeing where it takes us.
